School Readiness
Who is this for?
- Children who are starting school in the next 12-18 months (or sooner!)
- Children who are currently finding some areas of nursery a bit tricky.
- Parents who would like an "assessment" of their child's developing skills to make sure they don't need any additional support.
- Children who have recently started school and are finding some areas of school life a little tricky.
What do we do?
- Fun activities to work on hand strength and hand dominance which are both important skills needed for handwriting.
- Pre- writing and letter formation.
- Letter recognition (needed to help with letter formation)
- Drawing and colouring skills
- Introduction to scissor skills, this is also a great way to develop hand strength needed for handwriting as well as being lots of fun!
- General body strengthening to help your little one complete lots of school activiites
- Basic dressing skills.
NB: We see all aged children but his page is dedicated to preschoolers and those who are in reception class. Please contact me if your child is older to discuss a suitable package to meet their needs.
Next Steps . . .
We firmly believe in early intervention and this is why we are developing a separate pathway for younger children - including an assessment, the option of a report, goals to work on in therapy or at home. If you choose to work on goals at home we will support you by offering resources specifically designed to meet your child's goals and support you via email contact and offer reviews as and when you need them.
We plan to have this service up and running for September, but you can book your assessment now. I will be working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from September (school hours and term time only).
Please contact me for further advice for our new School Readiness pathway, we hope it helps your child reach their potential!
