What We Offer:-

Assessment

little girl threading

Before your child’s initial assessment I will send out a questionnaire for home and nursery/school to complete.  This will help me tailor the assessment to meet your child's needs.  The initial assessment may take up to approximately 2 hours. This may include standard and non-standardised assessments depending on your childs needs and abilities. As well as having lots of fun!

After I will score the assessments and interpret the information and complete a comprehensive report with recommendations tailored to meet your child’s needs.  I will only recommend therapy input which I feel your child needs at this time.

I can also include a school visit as part of the assessment, this can be an invaluable part of the assessment process. The school visit would include a meeting with the school's Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) or class teacher to discuss how your child is managing in school, what school has tried and their main areas of concern.  I would also complete a classroom observation.

Alternatively if you feel your child does not require an in-depth assessment, we can tailor an assessment to meet your child's needs. For example a screening assessment before they start school, or a short assessment on one functional area with a summary report (report optional).

Treatment

During either the assessment appointment or the first treatment session we will prioritise and discuss goals to work on together with your child.  This is not only good practice but helps me to plan the treatment sessions and evaluate your child's progress during their treatment block.

I will also provide an OT programme to help consolidate skills covered in your treatment sessions.  The activities won't take long and can be incorporated into your day.

I can offer termly reviews at school to modify OT programmes and recommendations as needed.  I can also complete groups within school settings and train up school support staff to complete groups.

We look forward to helping your child reach their potential
